OAFC is an "ongoing" witnessing movement for youth and adults of the LCMS. Its ministry is nationwide, making it available to all LCMS congregations. OAFC has one goal, "to be used by God to emphasize the saving Gospel: Jesus suffered, died and rose in victory for all sins, so that all people can be certain of going to heaven." OAFC activities include witnessing to all of Jesus Christ, our Savior; inviting the unchurched to the congregations they serve; and training other youth and adults to witness for Christ. Since 1982, groups of youth and adults have journeyed to El Paso, Texas, from across the United States to serve the people of the border through service projects coordinated through Ysleta Lutheran Mission. Major accomplishments of these groups include the renovation of 14 buildings; the renovation of the more than 80 year-old Yselta mission headquarters in El Paso, Texas; and the development of four other mission sites in Juarez, Mexico, one mile fromYsleta.
